Want to know God’s will for your life?
Are you preoccupied with things that consume your time and effort?
Are you aiming for something big but not getting an inch of achieving it?
Well, I've been there before and you are not alone.
Let me ask, do you really want to know what life will be ahead of you?
Are you concerned so much about it?
Do you know our life is not our own making?
Let's face it. We live in a world interconnected to one another.
It may be that you are alone today, but the things that happened to you is not just your own decision.
Your life was somehow shaped by other people and circumstances. Now, the problem is, we are sometimes stuck for a moment. We don't know what to do with our lives and are not motivated to keep on going.
This happens a lot of time to me.
And so, I was always thinking. What is really Gods plan for me?
Is there something BIG for me out there when I do this and that?
How can I know if this is Gods' plan or not?
All these things bring me to a realization to write this post.
How to know God's will for your life.
Do you want to know what Gods will in your life?
Well, keep on reading.
First, read Gods word.
Reading Gods word will open our minds and direct our thinking to him. It's one way to communicate with the creator. There are hidden treasures in the book of God.
According in the book of Jeremiah, in 33:3.
Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and [a]mighty things, which you do not know.’
Many times in my life that I don't know why things are happening to me. I am confused. But I pondered. May its Gods will. Many people worry about things which is yet to happen.
Needless anxiety is a foolish thing; and it hinders us from standing in a true position before God. When the Holy Spirit comes into the soul, there will be no desire to complain and murmur because we do not have everything we want.
Rather, we will thank God from a full heart for the blessings that we have.
There is a great need of more thankfulness among our workers today; and until they have this spirit they will be unprepared for a place in the kingdom of heaven. There is a mighty work to be done for every one of us.
We comprehend but little of what God desires to work out through us. We should seek to realize the breadth of His plans, and profit by every lesson that He tries to teach us. {PH014 10.2}
We must have the thought of comprehending His plans to us. If we have plans on our own, we submit it to Him and we shall succeed.
"Sometimes, we don’t recognize Gods will in our lives because we have our own plans already, but God allows failures in our lives in order for his plans to be done." Wise Decisions
However, God is behind you as long as your plans are with Him.
Little by little, things unfold if we continue to obey his will.
That brings me to my second key to know God's will for your life.
Obey His commands.
When Abraham was called to get out of the country, he did not hesitate to go to a place where he did not even know.
And God blessed him.
In life, God will qualify us to things that seemed impossible for us. Just like Abraham. According to one author,
The message of God came to Abraham, "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee."
In order that God might qualify him for his great work as the keeper of the sacred oracles, Abraham must be separated from the associations of his early life. The influence of kindred and friends would interfere with the training which the Lord purposed to give His servant.
Now that Abraham was, in a special sense, connected with heaven, he must dwell among strangers. His character must be peculiar, differing from all the world.
He could not even explain his course of action so as to be understood by his friends. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, and his motives and actions were not comprehended by his idolatrous kindred. {PP 126.1}
There are times in our lives that we sometimes don't know why we should do this, but later we found the Eureka moment.
'Oh I see, this is the reason why it happened.
As long as we obey Gods command, he will not forsake us.
At times that we are confused about why things happened. But accept it. This is the will of the Lord for you.
Sometimes, I find myself going astray, as my natural tendency is to seek to do things my way and to be in control over my life.
Yet, the Lord thwarts our efforts, in order that His beautiful plans for our lives may prevail. We just have to attentively listen and read the signs that He sends our way.
In the book Ministry of Healing, Ellen White wrote:
“Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide us, of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme will find perplexities vanish and a plain path before their feet” (p. 480-481).
Again the only way to know His commands is to read Gods word.
Third, listen to the small voice.
I have this experience in 2010 with an old man. I met him while we were having a medical mission. I offered a massage therapy for him and later we became friends.
I gave him, weekly therapy sessions. After three months, his body slowly recovered but not for a long time.
Another five months passed, he was again bedridden because of high blood.
After a month in the bed, he passed away.
Read his story of redemption here and how he was benefited by following Gods will in his life.
Listening to the small voice is a powerful way in reaching our goals in life.
No matter who you are, whatever is your work, you are destined to something BIG.
You just don't know as of this time.
To know God's will for your life is not a rocket science thing.
Anybody can reach his true potential in life and eternity by allowing God to work in his life.
Read Gods word, Obey his commands, listen to the small voice.
Read this book to know how I overcome life's greatest challenge.
How I become successful listening to the small voice.
Don't you want that?
