Was there a time in your life that you keep on waiting for something?

Some people are waiting for their Mr. Perfect or Ms. Perfect. In my experience, I waited for my blind date which did not arrive.

If you were on my shoes, what will be your reaction then?

I know that keeping our hopes afloat while waiting for our answered prayer is tiresome.

Just imagine, falling in line to pay your bills in the cashier for 5 hours. Many of us have the tendency to give up easily even in this minor situation.

This reason, I wrote this inspirational article about how to practice patience in life.

Ponder for a while the following situations that defy your patience.

  • What if you were betrayed by your best friend?
  • What if you have no more money to buy the basic things your family needs?
  • What if you are mired in debt and your credit card is already blocked?
  • What if you are jobless and wanted to find a job that suits your passion?

Situations like this are common, and it’s easier said than done!

Let’s face it.

The question is, how to keep motivated in life despite the problems and disappointments?

I have only one thing to emphasize in this post. It's about how to keep our hopes afloat even if there seemed to be no hope. Many people are hopeless today in life because of the fast-changing society.

The demands of work, family responsibility, and worldly pleasure are on the loose to get hold of our time.

With this people nowadays have been struggling to balance work, life, and family. But out of the open, there are external events in life we cannot control. These externalities - bitter moments, depression, envy, hatred, disappointments, others - are now ruling our lives.

I know that to get out of this situation is not easy. Our minds are somewhat hinged on to this problems which led to forget our goals in life.

1. Gaining more patience through claiming God’s promises.

But how you can do it?

God has many promises to us, only we need to keep this promise alive in our hearts and minds. One day these promises will come to reality.

To claim this promise, we should not give up our faith and confidence in Him.

The book of Hebrews has put it;

"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.  But we are not those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe are saved." Hebrews 10:35- 39.

Whatever plans we have in life, we should give this everything to God for he will act on it.

Wise Decisions

Thus the way to practice patience is to:

2. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this. Psalm 37:5

Only we need to be still and know that He is God who provides everything we need.

Patience is needed if we will claim his promise. We should not be bored while waiting for the right time and answered prayer. We should patiently wait for him. Psalm 37:7.

3. Practice more patience in life by Standing Still

God is near (1 Peter 5:8) than we ever could imagine.

Always remember that if we claim God's promise, we are sure that we can receive those promises. It is because Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed (Joshua 23:14).

But on one condition, we should not get out of our faith. We are called to remain in our faith until the end. If we chose to stay in God's faith, we are certain that we will receive what he has promised. Faith is a need aside for without faith, we cannot please God. Likewise, without action (decision) our faith is dead.

That is why Paul in his missionary experience once said,

“Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.”

Acts 27:31

If we want to be delivered from this sinful world, we only have one hope - God.

If we want to be free from the worlds distressful moments - we have one Hope.

If we want to keep our lives full of hope, let's claim his promise to us and put all the confidence that we received it.

It is written, "And this is the confidence we have in God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.  1 John 5:2

Conclusion

The post just show you how to practice more patience in life. Regardless of who you are, what you do and where you are. These tips can be applied. Just believe and you will achieve your dreams.
